I build tools, courses and research experiments that make learning computer science work at scale — from a first-year lecture hall to a MOOC followed by hundreds of thousands of people.
I am an associate professor and researcher at Télécom Paris, in the DIVA group (Design, Interaction, Visualization & Applications) of the LTCI lab. I started my career in large-scale distributed systems, and progressively moved the same questions of scalability towards education: if a system can serve a million requests, what does it take for a course to actually teach a million learners?
That path led me to co-found the FOLCS research group, to design open-source teaching tools such as Codecast, Taskgrader and WebLinux, to build award-winning MOOC series with Dartmouth College, and to chair the eMOOCs 2025 conference at Télécom Paris.
